Illuminated - The left Alpha Vane is not heated.
Angle–of–Attack
The left Alpha Vane is located aft of the TAT probe on the left
side of the forward fuselage. The vane measures airplane angle–
of–attack relative to the air mass.
Alpha Vanes send a signal to the SMYD (Stall Management Yaw
Damper) computers to determine when stall warning is required
based upon alpha vane angle of attack outputs.
