Command Engage (CMD ENGAGE) Switch (A or B):

Push –

  • Engages A/P.
  • Enables all command modes.
  • Displays CMD in A/P status display.
  • Pushing an engage switch for second A/P, while not in
    approach mode, engages second A/P and disengages first
    A/P.

  • Enables CWS operation
  • CWS engages if:





Option - CWS deactivated on approach
After localizer and glideslope capture during a dual autopilot approach
CWS cannot be engaged by manually overriding pitch and roll. Manual
override of autopilots causes autopilot disengagement.
  • Pitch or roll mode is not selected.
  • Pitch or roll mode is deselected.
  • Pitch or roll mode is manually overridden with control
    column force.
